SEC media days are here

Posted on July 9 2014 by @whoke10 in MEDIA DAYS

The newest edition of the SEC media days are almost here as the super conference holds it's"media mega-event" starting July 14th in Hoover Alabama. This should be the largest media day event ever as the popularity of the SEC is at an all time high and ESPN will once again cover the entire event.

The event will kick-off July 14th at 11:00 am with Mike Slive giving his customary introduction speech and the state of the SEC update. Slive will have some serious questions to answer this year. People want to know about the SEC network, conference scheduling and the main issue of the day, NCAA reform and paying student-athletes.

As is customary the defending SEC champions start off the event, so Auburn head coach Gus Malzhan will take the podium at 11:30 am following Mike Slive. Malzhan will give an update on the progress of the Tigers and he will have to take on the obvious questions from reporters. Of course having a crimson tainted media in this state it is certain he will receive his fair share of biased or boneheaded questions but Gus can handle anything they throw at him.

Gus Malzhan has picked three seniors to represent Auburn at SEC media days 2014. Malzhan did a wonderful job choosing these three, who are all team leaders starting with (QB) Nick Marshall along with (C) Reese Dismukes and (DT) Gabe Wright. All three of these players played a key role in the Tigers run to the SEC championship victory and a spot in the BCS title game. All of these young men will represent Auburn very well in Hoover.

Coach Malzhan and the players will do t.v. and radio interviews all day and a lot of them. Some interviews will be better than others, the Bama biased media will try to discount what the Tigers accomplished last year and the other half plus the media from the other 12 schools should be great after what Gus and his Tigers were able to do in year one.

The SEC media days isn't must see t.v., normally that is because Spurrier can be very entertaining in Hoover. The best thing about media days is that FOOTBALL SEASON IS VERY CLOSE.....
